Churches Uniting in Christ (CUIC) will hold its plenary meeting in Dallas, Texas June 2-4, 2017. CUIC is a fellowship of 11 Protestant Christian churches in the United States who have committed to working together to promote visible unity and fight racism. The United Methodist Church is a founding member.
As a part of the plenary meeting, all Christians are invited to attend a special Pentecost service on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. The service will be designed to celebrate the reaffirmation of our mutual recognition of ministries. It will be held at Christian Chapel Temple of Faith CME Church (14120 Noel Road, Dallas, TX 75254).
Confirmed preachers include Dr. J. Herbert Nelson of the PCUSA, Dr. Jennifer Leath of the AME and Dr. Keith Watkins of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ (CC/DoC). Unfortunately this date falls at the same time as our Annual Conference, therefore Bishop McKee will not be in attendance, however he has been asked to compose a letter of greeting which will be read aloud at the service.
