Each year, on the first weekend of May, as spring fully takes over, the Rx Steering Committee, a program of United Methodist Volunteers In Mission, North Central Jurisdiction offers a training / learning event for medical volunteers called the Rx Consultation. The 2013 Rx Consultation will be in the Wisconsin Annual Conference.
The early bird cost is $110 for the event which includes a Plenary Friday evening with Shannon Trilli, Director of Health Initiatives, UMCOR Health.
The cost includes all plenaries, meals, snacks, registration materials and entertainment!
There are alternative registration and pricing options for those that cannot make the whole event.
We will be hosted by Oak Creek Community UMC of Oak Creek, WI.

12:00 - RX Steering committee meets
1:00 - optional tour
2:00 - 4:45 registration, set up and visit displays
5:00 - welcome, devotion- Rev. Paul Armstrong. Oak Creek UMC / introductions of speakers and workshops
5:45 - dinner - (Carleen Wintermote / UMW/ Mission Work Area)
6:30 - Shannon Trilli - Plenary on UMCOR Health
7:45 - travelogues (30 min. max each) - 2013 medical mission teams
- Whitefish Bay UMC, medical mission
- Teresa Miller, RN West Michigan - medical team to Nicaragua
- Jody Pratt, RN, W MI & Judy Bruun, RN WI- medical team to Peru
9:30 - dismissed for evening
Saturday:
7:00 - coffee & rolls (Carleen Wintermote / UMW/ Mission Work Area)
7:30 - devotion Rev. Deborah Thompson, (invited)
8:00 - 9:00 Roger Boe, Plenary, on work at Maua Hospital, Kenya
9:05 - 10:05 Workshops (#1-3)
15 minute break
10:20 - 12:15 Workshops (#4-6)
12:15 - lunch (Carleen Wintermote / UMW/ Mission Work Area) and Visit displays
1:15 - Skyping Mission Sites (Tom Heaton, Guatemala Mission, JoAna Dwyer, ODIM-Guatemala, Cindy Ceballos, Panama)
2:00 - 3:30 Workshops (#7-9)
15 minute break
3:45 - 5:15 Workshops (#10-12)
5:15 - 5:45 display area
6:00 - Dinner (Carleen Wintermote / UMW/ Mission Work Area)
6:45 - entertainment by Oak Creek UMC Reach Out Praise Band
7:30 - communion
8:00 - Wrap up / Fellowship / ask questions - for those interested
