On March 24, 2012, the Bishop will be at Highland Park UMC, Dallas, Texas, for a mini consultation. All current American partner congregations in the region, and representatives from congregations interested in being part of this ministry should attend. Registration will begin at 9:30am in the Grand Hall. The program will include a box lunch, and will conclude about 2:00 pm. There are no fees required to participate.

This meeting is for all churches interested in establishing a wellness program with a professional Faith Community Nurse. These are professional RNs who have completed a specialized training. Those who attend should be Health & Welfare Coordinators, clergy, and any interested RNs.

Texas Health System has a community outreach program designed to train, support and educate these nurses. The program they offer is free. They hope to enhance community outreach through the building of stronger relationships with faith organizations.

This meeting will equip lay leaders and pastors to reach out to the RNs in their congregations and let them know about the incredible resources available to implement this program.

This initiative is part of the Global Health focus area of the North Texas Conference.

Lunch will be provided by Texas Health Resources.
