2011 Honduras Summit

The 2011 Honduras Summit is being held Thursday, October 13, Friday, October 14, and the morning of Saturday, October 15. The Planning Team is building on last year’s successful Summit – we have cut it back a bit (to 2½ days) and beefed up the educational program aspects. You will hear more about each of the Honduran United Methodist churches and see what the current facilities, staff, and congregations look like for all Honduran UM churches.

We also plan to have many educational sessions and a very robust Skype session with many of your Honduran friends and representatives. Come meet the new Superintendent of the Honduras Churches plus renew old acquaintances with the Bishop, the Country Director, our two wonderful VIM Team Coordinators, our GBGM representatives, and many friends. A Mission Team Leader training session will be offered the afternoon of Wednesday, October 12.

This class will qualify you to serve Early Response Trained team, which is a ministry of the local church. The training will equip volunteers to help after a disaster with clean-up, debris removal, and to make homes safe, sanitary and secure.

No cost for the training.The trainer is Mike Walker from Christ UMC in Plano.
